Privacy policy

This policy describes what actually happens to your data: what information we receive, where it goes, how long we keep it, and how to have it deleted. We wrote it ourselves, in plain English, and we keep it up to date.

The short version:

• The site doesn’t ask for your date, time, or place of birth. You share them later, in a private conversation, and only if you decide to work with us.
• The site doesn’t use cookies or collect visitor analytics.
• Your request is processed in the US. The checkbox in the form says so.

Who is responsible for your data

Optimacore LLC, a company registered in California, USA. For questions about your data, write to octant@optimacore.org or contact us through whatever channel we’ve been using.

What we receive through the site

From the request form, we receive your name or nickname, how to reach you, the service you chose, your comment, and, if you followed a tagged link, the name of the referring source. If you answer the short questions about your birth time, in the form or in the quick check on the page, we receive those answers too: how you know the time, how precisely, and how many life events you can date. They describe your birth time but don’t include the time itself or any dates. Please don’t put your date of birth or personal stories in the comment: a request doesn’t need them.

Technical data: our hosting infrastructure sees the IP address of each request and uses it to prevent abuse, for example to limit how often the form can be submitted.

The site stores one setting in your browser: the color theme you chose, light or dark. It stays in your browser’s storage on your device and isn’t sent anywhere.

Why we use it

We use the form data to reply to you, clarify your request, and agree on the service. These are steps you ask us to take before any agreement, so we don’t ask for separate consent to process the data, and the form has no “I agree to the processing” checkbox. The checkbox in the form is about something else: that your request will be processed in the US, as described below.

Data for the reading itself

If we agree to work together, you send us, in a private conversation, your date, time, and place of birth, your answers to our questionnaire, your questions, and, if needed, the dates of events in your life. Some of those events may be health-related: sharing them is optional, and if you do, we use them only to determine your birth time and prepare your reading. Please send all of this only after we’ve agreed, and only in that conversation. The conversation takes place in the channel you chose, and that service’s own rules apply to it as well.

How we use this data to prepare your reading:

• the name of your place of birth is sent to the OpenStreetMap mapping service to find its coordinates; your date and time of birth are not;
• the content is prepared by a system built on artificial intelligence models. The main model is Claude by Anthropic (USA). It receives your birth data, questionnaire answers, life events, questions, and our conversation about the order, as well as your name if you gave it, but not your contact details. For certain checks, such as reviewing the conclusions about your birth time, we use models from other US providers; they receive the data that check needs: your date of birth, dated life events, and the candidate birth times;
• with every artificial intelligence provider, our settings turn off the use of this data for training models. Anthropic keeps it for up to 30 days, and longer only if the law requires it or its safety systems flag it;
• an astrologer prepares and checks the final material.

Improving the system

Our calculation system improves as we work with it. Materials from your reading are used for this only if you give separate consent in the questionnaire, and only in anonymized form: without your name, contact details, or date, time, and place of birth. What remains is a pairing such as “an event of this type - this calculated pattern,” which can’t identify you. Without your consent, your materials aren’t used to improve the system.

Anonymized records can’t be linked to you, so we can’t delete them on request: there’s no way to find yours among them.

Who can see your data

• the hosting infrastructure of the site, which receives the form you send and delivers your request to our work email;
• our work email;
• Telegram, for notifications: it receives only a notice that a new request has arrived and the name of the service, without your contact details or comment;
• our request-tracking spreadsheet, which holds statuses and reply times;
• the astrologer who works on your reading;
• the artificial intelligence model providers and the mapping service: what exactly they receive is described under “Data for the reading itself”;
• the private storage for our working files: Google Drive (Google LLC, USA) and GitHub (GitHub, Inc., USA). Only we have access to it.

The site, the request form, and the email that delivers your request run on Cloudflare, Inc. (USA). Our work email runs on Google Workspace (Google LLC, USA).

We don’t sell your data or share it with anyone except the recipients named in this policy, and we never share it for anyone else’s marketing.

Processing in the US

We’re based in the US, so your request is processed there. If you live outside the US, the data protection rules here may differ from those in your country. When you send the form, you confirm with a checkbox that you understand this. If you change your mind, write to us, and we’ll delete your data as described below.

How long we keep it

• a request that doesn’t lead to an order: for up to 12 months after our last contact;
• the materials of an order (our conversation, your birth data, questionnaire answers, life events, the finished documents, and the entries in our request-tracking spreadsheet): while you work with us, and for up to 3 years after your last order, so your next reading, such as a forecast for the new year, doesn’t have to start by determining your birth time again;
• copies held by artificial intelligence providers: up to 30 days at Anthropic (see above), and at other providers under their own rules;
• Telegram notifications, which hold only a notice of a request and the name of the service, without your contact details: we delete them when we clear out our work chats, and in any case within 12 months;
• hosting logs: for the short technical periods set by the provider’s rules.

At your request, we delete data sooner than any of these periods. The only exception is the anonymized records used to improve the system, described above.

Your rights

You can ask what data we have about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Write to us through the channel we’ve been using, or at octant@optimacore.org. We fulfill requests within 30 days. If the data is needed to finish work you’ve already paid for, we’ll tell you so directly and offer you options.

Cookies, analytics, and tracking

The site doesn’t use cookies and doesn’t collect visitor analytics. If you arrive through a link with a source tag, the site keeps that tag in the memory of your browser tab until you close it, so the tag reaches your request even if you send it from another page. The tag goes nowhere except your request. No third party collects information about your activity across other websites through this site. Because there’s no tracking to turn off, the site works the same way whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal. If any of this changes, we’ll update this policy first.

Age

The site and services are intended for people 18 and older.

Changes

This version took effect on the date shown at the top of the page. If we make significant changes, we’ll update the date, and if we’re in touch with you at the time, we’ll let you know separately.
